These Cheddar Bay Biscuits (Red Lobster Copycat) are completely irresistible and can be on your desk in less than 20 minutes! I dare you to eat only one! Packed with goodness, these biscuits that are simple are the perfect addition to every meal!

Some friends and I recently hit up one of our favourite girls night restaurants, Red Lobster, before we went and watched La La Land. I know. I am always late to the party on this stuff. Anyways, for days I could not get those Cheddar Bay Biscuits from my mind. I decided I had to come up with my own copycat version. If I do say so myself nailed it.
I began with my perfect biscuit recipe and then checked the ingredients list on the boxed mix which they're selling today at Costco. I pulled out the words that I realized (not that many to be honest, a great deal of filler in these mixes) and produced a spot-on recipe that my husband could not stop thanking me .
I served them with a few grilled tri-tip and a fresh garden salad last night and discuss heavenly... WOW. These pockets are created by Tons of sharp cheddar cheese within the biscuits which are fabulous and gooey. A little bit of garlic and onion powder add these biscuits and a savoriness.
Fresh from the oven, I brushed on melted butter which was blended with garlic powder and fresh parsley. The odor you men! I am happy they were loved by my family or this batch of cookies could have been devoured by just me.
Now that I have the Cheddar Bay Biscuits down pat, I am presuming Cheesecake Factory for the upcoming girls night... you see where I am going with this, right?
Speaking of date night, I am sure I am not the only person that has difficulty carving out time to spend with friends. With so many family activities, it can be hard. However, as I like to remind myself, now that I in that stage of life, I have responsibilities. Like ensuring my husband will feed the boys food while I am outside setting up date nights with friends, and ensuring that dividing the dinner bill and movie tickets with friends is a procedure.
And let's not forget about these Cheddar Bay Biscuits for those nights when walking to one room to Receive your pj's on is about as far as you want to go
Recipe adapted from HERE

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter cut into small pieces, cold
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 6 oz grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Line a quarter sheet baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and stick back in the fridge or freezer until ready to use.
  4. Combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

  7. Stir in the shredded cheese and use your hands to fully incorporate into the dough.
  8. Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the dough out onto the parchment lined baking sheet. Pat down gently to flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until tops are golden brown and biscuits are cooked through.
  10. In a small bowl, stir together the garlic powder and melted butter.
  11. Add the chopped parsley and stir to combine.
  12. Use a pastry brush to brush the melted butter mixture on top of each biscuit.
  13. Serve immediately.
